Veteran-owned business

There are approximately 2.5 million veteran-owned businesses in the United States, but only 15% are female-owned. At Elizabeth Evans Custom Homes, we are proud to hold the distinction of being both a woman and veteran-owned business and have recently been ranked by the Jacksonville Business Journal as one of Jacksonville’s top 25 veteran-owned businesses and top 50 women-owned businesses.

What does it mean to be a veteran-owned business?

Veteran-owned businesses are exactly as the name suggests—businesses owned by veterans of the United States military. Elizabeth Evans Custom Homes is owned and operated by Elizabeth Evans, an Army and Florida Army National Guard veteran who currently holds the title of Colonel. Elizabeth Evans Custom Homes is also a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), which is an additional certification.

In Florida, the state’s Office of Supplier Diversity officially designates companies as a veteran-owned business or SDVOSB. Companies must meet specific eligibility requirements and submit documentation to be formally certified. While not mandatory, this certification provides official verification of a company’s status to the public while offering numerous benefits to the business.

Beyond the standard definition, to our team, being a veteran-owned business means serving our community with pride and integrity. The values instilled in Elizabeth during her service to our country are the same as those that guide our company and help it thrive.

How does being a veteran-owned business impact our work?

To put it simply, being a veteran-owned business influences everything we do at E2HOMES. It is at the heart of our mission and what drives us to provide the highest level of service possible. Integrity, innovation, technical expertise, transparency, commitment, and stewardship are our focus points as we strive to put our client’s needs above everything else.

Beyond our commitment to serving our clients, we are committed to serving our community. Outside of her military service, our founder actively serves in leadership roles on several non-profit boards. As a veteran-owned business, we have a heart for veterans and regularly support related causes. Over the summer, Homes for Our Troops chose us as the builder of a fully customized, accessible home for a well-deserving veteran and his family here in Jacksonville. We were honored to be given this opportunity and look forward to future opportunities to give back to our veterans.

If you would like to support a veteran-owned business, contact Elizabeth Evans Custom Homes to see how we can help you with your next home remodeling project or custom-built home. And to all of our service members, both active and veteran, thank you for your service and sacrifices.
